My paintings are about the quest to find and express the poetry in all things.


I am an oil painter in love with the diversity the medium inspires. I think of my work as an intuitive exploration into those physical spaces and things that shape not only one’s environment but also, an inner life. My landscapes are often metaphorical musings of places I'd like to be, or memoryscapes of places I have been. My subjects range from poetic, meditative landscapes to semi-abstracts that celebrate texture and bold color.

As always, my trusty paint-caked palette knives and favorite brushes are employed. Paint is thickly applied with a knife, then scraped back and reapplied revealing layers of intertwined semi-transparent and opaque paints and thicknesses.

A transplanted Canadian, it is now my great joy to share a Colorado studio and a wonderful artlife with my husband Wes Hyde, a noted diverse-works artist and plein air painter. I am an artist member of Plein Air Artists Colorado (PAAC).
